Almost every home has many interior doors. Unless you’re partial to open floor plans or bead curtains, that is probably the case where you live.

Doors might seem like a very simple design, but there are many things to take into consideration when a door is installed. If it isn’t done properly, it could be damaged or do damage to your home.

First of all, the frame into which the door is installed needs to be plumb and square. If this is not the case, the door could get stuck or gouge your floor. Because of the stress that is put on the door when it swings on its hinges, it is also important that the fasteners are attached to solid wood and that they are of sufficient length.

All of this is something that an experienced carpenter would be aware of, but if you get the job done by someone that doesn’t know what they are doing, you will see why experience is so important when it comes to jobs that might seem simple on the surface.
